When God

When God made man, the eternal one Made the Sabbath a place to meet The image of his love in time, the sun And moon to build its walls around his feet. When God met Israel in a desert place He bid then build a temple for grace That he may dwell with them in space Behind the curtain to veil his face. When God sent Christ to repair the breach Between time and space, he was the cup To pour the race into one soul, his reach Beyond the mark of sin's howling pup. In all these things, Yahweh brings me To worship by candles' dark of faith And his dripping blood stalks memory And usher me through a swordless gate.

Interesting view on faith. Through Christ we get through those gates, and it is indeed the ultimate blessing. Good use of imagery. Thank you for sharing your talent with us and for your kind comment on my poem. Keep on writing. Blessings to you. Karen
