I love when a poem Takes me by surprise When it strikes a truth That takes my breath away When it makes me smile inside Or makes me shed a silent tear I love when a poem Whispers in my ear In any one of many ways When it dances up a storm And stirs up feelings lost Or sleeping under stars I love when a poem Bursts with originality Be it substance or expression Maybe whimsically inclined When it flows like honey Or sings an offbeat song Read on air by invitation ~ January 30, 2022 'POETS HARBOUR' AP: 3rd place 2020 posted on December 1, 2019
