When a Day Begins

When a day begins with thunder That can split the sky asunder What you, in your wildest dreams, do not expect Is to later find you’re under Such a blue sky that you wonder How the then and now can possibly connect. Mother Nature, though, is fickle And her fancies she may tickle With a shower, a tornado or a storm. For if rain is just a trickle, It would not be worth a nickel; Nature much prefers the novel to the norm.

Your lines ring true in my area, Ilene. We're 24 inches beneath the norm and now it's in the middle of hurricane season.

So true Ilene. Nature is unpredictable at best.

I can relate Ilene, we had sunshine earlier now its absolutely horrendous and too stormy for the ferry to sail - same for tomorrow so the shelves in the shop will resemble war rationing with little stock lol. hugs Jan xx

It does seem at times that Mother Nature likes to shake things up a bit with the weather. Maybe she gets bored? I enjoyed your poem, Ilene and I particularly like your rhyme scheme. Blessings, Kim M
