Wheel Chair Up the Sky
Behold the wheel chair flying high
To reach the clouds with freedom zest
My dear special child makes it fly
His goal is reaching God so nigh
While meeting Him in heaven’s crest.
For venture to celestial height
My son does gear for starry race
Propelled by Bible story might
Elijah’s great chariot* sight
Defies gravity midst faith brace.
Joyous for his triumphant try
Floating now above worry’s test
He surmounts woes of wheel chair-tie
Mirth-filled to vanquish awful sigh
As throne of God he touches, blest.
With hope that beams good news delight
Astronaut lad shows winning face
His zoom around vast space aright
Now shakes my night for wake-up light
To thank the Saviour for His grace.
*2Kings 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
