What's In a Name Inspired By Exalted Words Contest

I’m catching a train to a station It’s causing me awful frustration I cannot say its name I clam up, its a shame I’ll never reach my destination! Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch When written it is quite a shock My poem’s syllable count Off by a great amount But I've truly cured my writer’s block! 2/25/20

Oh wow Jan, this city actually exists. Who knew? I loved the humor and how you managed to fit that name into your Limerick is a marvel! This has to be a top winner if for a contest! xxoo

When I lived in Wales, we invariably had to take visitors to have their photo taken at that train station, which my children could say without taking a breath. I imagine it is quite a challenge to anyone reading a TV monitor! Well caught, Jan! Aloha! rico

One of your best, dear Jan. I marvel at the ease you write the. What a gift! As for my poem about my father, it's true, and like you, when he passed, I didn't mourn nor shed a tear. It was a difficult childhood for me. I edited it recently and decided to post it. Thanks for reading it. / M

aww Maurice you will never know how your comment has raised my spirits!! I am so saddened to read your poem was true but from the way it was written I thought it was. I am so pleased the way this poem turned out I started it yesterday but having not been well I have only finished this afternoon I am so delighted you praise my work so highly it means a lot to me:-) hugs Jan xx

I am on my own now Lin, but as you know I will not be forced into leaving and I will continue with my poetry. We have witnessed the behavior and it is far from childish because children often know no better but in the end he has to answer to a higher being than poetry soup admin. :-) hugs Jan xx

Thanks Lin I know you've stuck around to read after Charlie did such a lovely tribute - go out with your head held high and focus on your poetry elsewhere and say hello to friends who have also left PS in search of a more pleasant environment where to post their work . Forget about this place, how amazing that Armand and Cas have both posted on here today after long absences - it made me remember the 'good times' when we were the four musky tears with Tim, but people move on as you must> :-( hugs Jan xx
