I have know idea if this is what the sponsor is looking for. But this is where my muse led me.
A name was chosen for you before you were born. Like it or not your name is associated with you. So embrace the name given to you. Folk will call you many things like: Dumb, stupid, crazy, ignorant, fat, skinny, lazy, ugly and etc. It ain't what they call you it's what you answer to. Be proud and stand tall of your name Many generations before you carried that name 1-13-17 Contest: What's In A Name Sponsor: Silent One

Good, wise advice in this poem, Alexis. I was named after my father, so I always liked my name. Good write w/even better message. Love and peace to you.

"It ain't what they call you it's what you answer to"....that sums up the main message of this poem, Alexis. I would like to mention that some parents ought to be more careful as to the choice of names for their children...some names I would never answer too!!:) Regards // paul

Hi Paul, I totally agree, parents should choose wisely when they name their children. I appreciate that you stopped by:-) Alexis

You made some great points, Alexis! I don't know what he wants either, but I thought we were to hint at our name without giving it away - I really don't know. I'll have to go back to my muse's drawing board. I enjoyed this. I've missed ya, been absent over a week! I used to ask my son, "if someone calls you an elephant does that make you an elephant?" Poetry hugs ... CayCay
