What Would Have Happened?

Whatever happened to you? So many years ago More than I want to count I looked into your eyes There was a sweetness there Everyone saw it I brought it into me and my heart smiled I listened to you talk Your voice made me melt I wanted you in my life You made me who I am But we were barely out of grammar school We had no idea what love was Always told we were to young Told that it was just puppy love No one knew how I felt I couldn’t even tell you I waited for you That was years before my first kiss By then you were gone Moved to another town So many miles away Memories lasted many years But my life went on As did yours Sometimes I think back Those days we spent together On the swings Holding hands The notes we passed under our desks All gone now Faded memories Questions What would have happened with one kiss? A sign of love between two children Would it have hurt? Or would it be the one memory that never faded?

Awe, this takes me back to my first puppy love in grade school. He would push me in the swing and we would hold hands. Of course, we grow up and go our separate ways. Good write Robert
