The phrase "poet destroyer" can have different meanings, in literature, it can refer to a destructive force or a powerful presence that challenges or transforms the poet's work.  E.g. in Percy Bysshe Shelley's poem "Ode to the West Wind," the West Wind is described as both a destroyer and a preserver.  In other contexts, it may represent a force that challenges or shapes the poet's identity. Wow, A Poet Destroyer!

My arrival landed where I began my flight and journey Sunny San Diego y e s, I was back and how I missed it Oh-h-h-h, let me count the ways—rather days spent in a border town, oh what was I thinking? Ah that’s what, it was your sugar kisses Some artists dabble in the art of alchemy that wasn’t me, ‘till I discovered it was Ok it wasn’t too bad, my boyfriend the metal head We threw parties, thrashed and bashed y e s frequented metal band concerts, check But this isn’t about that guy no, no No this is a story of my friend, my partner My sweet, there he was awaiting me To beautify him further lacks only a gilded spark divine, (y e s my most poetic line) love eternal unbound, his incendiary sunshine smile could melt the polar ice and snowy ground What was I thinking, O' what was I thinking? It’s you that I found amongst the stars, at a time My Brightstar, romance held eternal love by far, by far ‘twas another lifetime, another me when I went by another name The night was young we stood closely, the moment held, we shared a kiss I wade pining for another’s touch, another’s lips, yet silky and warm were yours, rhapsody’s bliss Until you I was crying endlessly, needlessly I’m guilty, an all romantic and nothing more, useless in anyway, listless in many ways As he reached out for me, he knelt on the rust red cobblestone I heard the words, I’ll never let you go again Let’s get married –friends for thirteen years Y e s he stole kisses and no not what you’re thinking As I gazed into his eyes I whispered y e s What was I thinking? O' how my world ended You’d introduced me to chivalry, courage, courtesy Chills still run up and down my spine as I think y e s I really do think about us when I'm Jade Stone When I feel her confidence, passion, jealously, vanity, amor It's when I adore what we had and hadn't You turned me on to Anne Rice’s “Interview With A Vampire” “The Phantom Of The Opera” Echo And The Bunnymen, ha we looped “Sugar Kisses” all night long and danced ‘till the break of dawn Filigree and champaign, the red lights of the Stingaree We were a myriad of couples that day, married by a radio host at the beach on the West Coast, brides were dressed in a variety of red grooms had smiles from ear to ear, and I do's were said 'Twas a special Valentine's Day, everything was free! The cake, the hilltops B & B, where we walked for miles under the moonlight The night was young, we stood closely, the moment held, we shared a kiss Lost in thoughts of you my perfection with no notice that twilight was nigh, I wade pining for another touch of your lips, silky and warm, rhapsody’s bliss They’ll say I made a superlative effort to meet you again, O' how they’ll sigh What was I thinking, finding the person who's right for you requires a very subtle alchemy, I was trying to transform metal into gold Behold, we were convenient, two effortless souls unbound Both in a break up and were each others rebound

Anaya, a very carefully crafted poem about honesty in relationships and looking back with a kind view of the past. Embedded within this work is the formula for forgiving ourselves and others--the skeleton key to our own happiness. Giving in to a relationship like this includes a lot of sacrifice. It's not easy and I hope you have room for yourself in all your relationships going forward. This is a very thought-provoking work and it makes me smile for you. We hope everyone finds what you seek.
