What to do on May 5th

It's a few days early, so please think of 5/5/XX. I researched this holiday based on historical events that occurred after 1860. Now, it largely involves sales and promotion that rival the superbowl.

Since Mexico cast off the French
Make sure a Corona to clench
And forgo the Merlot
On Cinco de Mayo
But buy beer which can a thirst quench

Thanks for the encouragement William. Relaxation is something I try to experience for at least a few moments each day (if possible). The inspiration for poetry seems to come on its own. Hope you are well and I'll check out some of your creations!

My friend Duke, I apologize for erasing your reply to my comment. I had no intention of doing so and am unsure how I managed to do it. I am experiencing strange behavior with my chalking hands as if they are approaching their BUB date. Furthermore, I would appreciate gaining a deeper comprehension of the underlying introspection and overarching vision. I find things related to science incredibly fascinating. The designation does get more comments directed this way, and although it's a burden to answer each one, I am meeting a few poets I haven't read previously. I am most grateful for that opportunity.

Thanks so much SO. The ideas drive the rhyme scheme, which means I sometimes have several drafts with several different rhymes before I figure out what works best and says more or less what I want.

I found this limerick very entertaining. Corona is very popular during Cinco de Mayo but by the end of the day, celebrants are opening the tequila. It's good it only happens once a year.
