What Makes My Heart Whole

In a crowded room, I hear "there's our girl" Arriving late, I hear "I've saved you a seat" My child is crying, I hear "Mummy can make it better" I worry I could float away on the breeze, unnoticed But then I remember that someone is looking for me, or just waiting for me to arrive or is comforted by my presence I love those words of belonging Those words that whisper to my soul that I exist, that I'd be missed, that my child needs my healing kiss... I hope those words that comfort my soul Will some day heal it and make it whole
