What Makes Me Smile

Quote by The Poet When the early perfumed jasmine is in bloom, It tells me that spring time is coming soon. On a long lonely day that seems to have no end, It's a wonderful feeling to get a call from a friend. Near the end of a day when all work is done, To sit holding your hand in the warmth of the sun. Looking at pictures of my family with loving pride. Living in the knowledge that God is on my side. Going to sleep at night knowing I've done my best, Happy in the knowledge that I am truly blessed. Living with faith that He will answer my prayer, For those affected by war will receive His loving care. Watching through my window, happy children at play. The first burst of warmth showering on a winter's day. The soft sound of rain splashing on my roof, The good it does will be the colorful flowers as proof. When I am on a train and my shopping is complete, And a handsome young man offers this old lady a seat. When I check the bank and add up all my stuff, And my budget balance shows I have just enough. So many things in my wonderful life make me smile. I could carry on to make a list as long as a mile. But the one thing that truly makes it all worth while, Is the warmth and kindness I feel when I receive a smile.
