What Lies Between the Lines

Do not ask me if I am fine
I might just lie won’t show the sign
Can you not see what lies inside
The mask I wear things really hide

I cease to speak for this I feel
If you won’t listen I might not heal
I sometimes feel I am not heard
The things I say I put on hold

You seem engrossed with things around
Your laughter reaches higher ground
I know it’s not the right moment
To air worries they should just wait

Do not ask me if I’m okay
The face I show will just betray
I just hide if I’m not ready
To tell you things that make me needy

Do not ask me just do not ask
If time permits I will divulge
Cause I can’t stand to lie to you
You are my strength you know that’s true

Do not ask me I will just tell
In time I’ll be out of my shell
Or read just read between the lines
In time you’ll know my given signs.
