What If
What if?
What if all she wanted was freedom
Freedom from the society’s haunting words
Freedom from judgments
From hatred that flowed from their souls
Judgments that flowed from uneducated minds
Hatred from unclean hearts
Misunderstanding persons who never knew why
She did all she did
What if she wanted to run away
From eyes that unstrap her
Hands that try to choke her
Mouths that curse her
What if she was seeking security
From the inferiority she felt
What if she just wanted to prove a point
To all the hungry men who wanted her as relish
What if she wanted to furnish herself
Make up for lost words
What if, she also wanted to be human
To feel normal
To not be cursed and abused
For being different
What if that was the case?
