I didn't want to go to the barbeque My mood felt dangerously close to anti social I'm vegetarian and it's annoying specifying All the rules I've invented As it turned out It was great Everyone was hilarious I was hilarious The wind whipped around us What's good about it really Is I'm not as annoying as I believe (Sometimes)

Ahh you're too kind - the real behind the scenes is I was fine once I discovered everyone was nice and I'd drank a bottle of Guinness :)

It has died down a bit now. but fifty years ago, I got so tired of all those questions, and vego food wasn't nearly as available as it is these days. Some times when dining with a bevy of carnivores I just used to say I wasn't hungry and not eat at all rather than put up with a barrage of comments. My Granddaughter has been a strict vegan for many years. I had to be so careful when she was here. Used no packet food all freshly cooked, just to be sure.

One of the worst discoveries was they put milled feathers into some bread - it's like why? Who thought of it? I try to stay away from ingredients lists now :/

Well I am glad you added the sometimes !!!.. But usually at BBQ's its the other guests that are annoying ! "what do you eat?" but vegetables are alive" Have read where carrots scream when they are picked from the ground" " you must be iron deficient" "why did you become a vegetarian ?" ( I used to look the one that asked that, up and down slowly and answer "Well look what would have happened to me if I hadnt become vegitartian!") Nice poem mate, well done.

Haha it was full of kindness - they'd made me halloumi kebabs and cooked them first. I was vegan for a bit but I couldn't stand myself (or the fact most places offer fake meat to vegans). Yes, what if they do have feelings Wen? I'll have to eat just seeds and fruit. Hang on, I'm entering an existential crisis again, must go! Haha

Thanks - never permanent discoveries though as I'll get evidence supporting that I am annoying very soon I'm sure! Haha :)
