What I See In Your Eyes
How do you make the stars hush
When just a whisper from their lips makes endorphins rush
The sound of their voice is what makes life worth living
Can't you see the gift their giving
Can you see the gentle gleam in her eyes
They bounce and dart like fireflies
Lighting up this midnight sky
But tell me what's your alibi
For I swear my eyes have met yours before
As if I've seen you standing on a distant shore
Peering back at me
Filling my heart with this melody, this song, this tune
I wait for it night and noon
But what makes you sing these songs
Filling my head like an envelope
Each piece of paper a gentle love note
Like a siren's call filling my thoughts, my body, my soul
It gives me strength in dire times
With each and every joyous rhyme
It's like an angel so soft and sweet
Has graced my presence and kissed my cheek
Told me I don't have to weep
This simple gesture has lifted me up, inspired me to never stop
Because if just one person can make such a difference
What can we all do with our existence
Can we change the way this world turns
With just our will and how much we Yearn
Is it truly possible to shape the future with just our two hands
I wasn't sure till I saw the demands
A soul that's strong and a body that's tough
A mind without limits and hands that are rough
These are the things needed to change
Not a single one can you exchange
A strong soul you need for these trying times and a body that's tough to keep you from dying
A mind without limits
So you can really think for it Is small decisions
That bring us to the brink
And last but not least you need rough hands
Calloused and withered from working the lands
Because to shape a land so you can eat
Is not such an easy feat
It takes true thought and passion
And is always done in a modest fashion
But the one thing you may have forgot
Is the one person who brought you in
And showed you how
And she is the one that inspires you now
She shows you to work with your vision
And little do you know plays a role in every decision
