What I Hear
When I get very quiet
I listen and I hear
My every breath rushing through my lungs
My pulse swishing through my veins
My heart beating to their rhythm
I close my eyes
And hear beauty in my head
First spring rain nursing the sleepy earth
Summer sun shooting its darts of gold
Rattling of autumn leaves at my feet
Wintry snowflakes land on fluffy pine branches
When I get very quiet
I occasionally hear
Wind gushing through my hair
Unbridled laughter of a little girl
Clouds whispering my name
