What do you do when the longing for you burns in my chest
What do you do when the longing for you burns in my chest,
My heart cries silently, calling your name, misunderstood,
Through night dreams, in the moonlight's shine, I search for you ceaselessly,
I wonder in silence, where are you, my joy, forbidden dream?
I will paint you in the shadows of the night, with verses, with rhymes,
On the canvas of my thoughts, I will again draw a lost path,
A fairy tale will slip into my soul, an untold story... Where are you,
My love, my mad fantasy, my silent illusion?
I will touch you with parched lips, with unfulfilled longing,
I will turn to ash in the fire of endless nights,
I will hide you in the pages of an old book,
Among words that pretend to be desires, in unattained dreams.
And in the evening hours, I will leaf through that book,
When my body burns in the secret of an endless yearning,
On its withered pages, a bitter tear will gently flow,
And my longing will flicker in my soul, a flame in the night, without end.
I will read about you, between lines, between dreams,
In this wide world, where my days are empty, powerless,
So devoid of your light, my ray of sun, my lost dream,
In each moment, I carry you within me, you are my unfulfilled longing.
