“Death is the gateway to eternity”...by poet.
Several times in my life death has held my hand
and led me into the land of the dead.
We live, we die,
it's nature's way.
Yet, I felt abandoned in that forest of stone
where dead memories go to be buried.
As I laid flowers on a plot of ground
a profound sadness soon saturated my soul.
Why visit a cemetery,
if all that's there is dust and bones?
We seek closure,
yet expect more.
