We Are What We Eat

When I was young, I had a voracious appetite and could eat practically anything that was in sight, now it seems I just look at food and gain four or five... My young girl muscles were nice and toned, and now that I'm middle aged it seems they've all but eroded, I eat a lot of healthy foods, and do a lot of walking, but guess I'll have to join a club and do less talking, Sigh, when I was young I ate an awful lot of jello, and now its caught up to me especially in my middle.

This is true of all of us! I would exasperate my mother by the quantity of food I ate. I have in the past two decades lost 50 lbs. and eat like a vegetarian. I feel so much better and lighter and have come to appreciate food so much more without becoming a slave to its demands. Merci beaucoup for the stop by. Best to you. / M

Good for you Maurice because that is not an easy feat! I love being a vegetarian and feel healthier myself because of it…best to you too!:)

Clever write... I'm not a vegetarian, though I should be as much as I love animals, but I only drink water or tea, and stay away from fast foods. It works for me.

That is good that you stay away from fast food places because they are loaded with fat and sodium! Thank you for your nice comment Chris!:)

In the immortal words of Homer Simpson, when told by Lisa of her vegetarian ways, "if God hadn't intended us to eat meat, he wouldn't have made it so delicious". I guess the same could be said for all food??? Good one Cheryl...

Charlie, I really don't miss eating meat after I read how long it takes to digest and all the hormones they put in the animals, etc. I guess to each his/her own! Glad you liked my poem btw!:)
