we are so little

We are so little,
Told me the bird,
If no one thinks of us,
Even the shy rose.

We are so little,
Told me the elephant,
If no one thinks of us,
Even the mighty baobab.

We are so little,
Told me the giraffe
If no one thinks of us,
Even the tormented acacia.

 We are so little,
The professor told me,
If no one thinks of us,
Even the reed
Or the pupil with big loving eyes,

We are so little,
Told me the poet,
If no one thinks of us,
Even the robin,
Even the star at night.

We become great in proportion to how the world views us. We become so small when we are ignored. Even animals feel so small if they are not cared for. Well written, dear Yaan.

Some times we don't realize that more people are thinking about is than we know. Your poem is a delight Yann. When we care, it doesn't always mean we can be there. I loved this poem it has deep meaning and insurmountable charm. Best wishes from Wen
