When any body part is sick, we do not beat it with a stick but treat it, so that it may heal and we do so, with utmost zeal, since it is a part of our form, alive owing to blood flow warm, which like our breath, is but God’s grace, outpouring love, leaving no trace of judgment, for we all are one ~ living light of the central sun. 29-July-2022

I could never understand what self-flaeggelation was supposed to achieve, like your opening lines say we should care for ourselves not beat ourselves pointlessly, I believe we are all individual Seeker, but are linked together by the fabric of reality, cheers David

That’s metaphorical. Just like no part of our body is other than us, no soul is other than the singular God essence or we may say, universal consciousness

Reminds me of St Paul. Great thought.
