Waves of Doubt
I am writing this poem just for you
You know who I am referring to
You are the one that tosses and turns as you can’t decide if this dream is for you
The Lord has promised a brighter tomorrow
He has promised to make all of His children’s dreams come true
Did he exclude YOU?
No, he most certainly did not
He promised a better tomorrow
He promised to be on the other side of the horizon
He promised that if we held tightly to his mast
That he would guide us through stormy waters
He is our anchor and he is our guide
He calmed the waves of the sea one night
He is walking across the waters and looking directly at you
He says, “Come out on the water! I want to talk to you!”
“Why do you toss and turn like a wave in the ocean?”
“Why do you need me to give you one thousand reassurances?”
“Is your faith that shallow?”
“Is your journey any less significant than the next?”
I say “No, my son. Your journey has just begun.”
“Stay close to me and I will walk with you on these waves of doubt.”
“Don’t cast me out.”
“Hold my hand and stay the course. This journey is not what you think. It is so much more!”

James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
