Was It Worth It
I have seen people hold onto lies, their entire lives
They built a fortress to protect their self and others
If approached, they deny their horrid criminal acts
As if they made themselves believe nothing happened
Then they will still try to threaten others into silence
Their lies have turned their life into an ongoing façade
Their true self is buried somewhere dark never seen
A place without a foundation, spinning aimlessly lost
Every move in a mission is to keep from being exposed
They make pitiful pleas about those who walked away
Who were not wanting to be buried with them under
--- Deep layers of deception ---
--- In the end, was it worth it? ---
