Wandering Through Memphis
In this city along the Mississippi,
in the western part of Tennessee,
wanders a spirit who was legendary.
However, he is no longer in his body.
He brought great entertainment and mirth
during his rather brief time on the earth.
This entity must be totally unaware
as his spirit wanders through the night air,
that nobody can sense his presence.
He is merely an invisible essence,
as he treads through what the mortals call “Memphis”.
While alive, he garnered great fame.
Nearly everyone knew him by name.
Now he cannot seem to find his way
as he wanders through the streets night and day.
He now realizes what they have said is true.
When you leave, you cannot take it with you.
