Wake- Up Call
slow to gather my thoughts
as dawn breaks
awoken from a troubled sleep
where monsters prowled
and I hide
demons of the past,
demons of dimensions
intermingled, momentarily,
with mine
fear and bravery I show
sexual sirens of all shapes
do tempt me
cities and worlds shown
too awesome for
the wakened mind
words of inspiration
flow at the edge of wakefulness
many do not take dreams
as a thing of serious nature
poor fools, they miss so many
opportunities for
enlightenment
to be locked in this one dimension
is the real fallacy
the ultimate illusion
shucking truth for
hellucination
reality for fantasy
those who claim
this is all there is
see with a blinded eye
turned inward
those who sense
the movements, unseen,
about them
get a glimpse
of a bigger truth
it's only a glimpse-
a hint-a tantalizing sense-
but it's existence can not be denied
and all the natural wonders of earth
merely hint at
the wonders beyond
my life, I suppose
was merely an attempt
to gleam this new vision
and though my sight is poor,
my senses are enlivened
it's purely a natural progression
all go through-
but it's shocking to find
one who's been alive so long,
has but just now been awakened.
