Waiting For Daddy

Waiting For Daddy How long will she have to wait Her daddy was taken away Just a few days after she was born He was taken to a distant land One an entire world away To fight an enemy he hadn’t known Even though it has been years She still watches through the window While she practices saying “Daddy” But her daddy will not be coming home His body is laying in the sand His soul lifting to Heaven But before he leaves he makes one stop He stands before the window And kisses his daughter on the cheek Saying good-bye to the love of his life And he is gone, and she still waits For her daddy who can never come home
