People of England please stand, sing your praise His highness Viv Wigley king of flat pack Performed a miracle that will amaze A lesser man would have taken it back. Across dining room floor he laid the bits But the instruction book, it was not there He just hoped and prayed that everything fits Odds stacked against him, it just was not fair. The only support was his cat Celeste And if it all fails he’ll take it right back But the flat pack king he gave it his best No loss of sanity or heart attack. His furniture art now stands firm and proud So rejoice and shout from the rooftops loud. In honour of Viv Wigleys remarkable achievement and inspired by Jan Allison and Nina Parmenters sonnets.

Hello Tom … any reference to Viv, must have a dose of comedy it, and your sonnet has passed the test - thanks Tom - Lindsay

Thanks for immortalizing my epic deeds, Tom, you are a worthy scribe. Keep on Sonnetting (yes, I know it's not a verb, but I make stuff up all the time). Regards, Viv

We can all relate to this “flat pack erection’ thing. A side benefit that so many good sonnets resulted. Sharing humor with fellow poets is a wonderful thing. SuZ

Thanks Kim, My first sonnet, had to make a few changes to get the syllable count right. Yes , only his cat I think Mrs Wigley kept out of the way lol.

Thanks S.O. They are indeed especially if there's screws or washers missing. But no instructions is taking it to another level.

Thanks Sunshine. I can imagine the vocabulary used lol, usually its a washer or screw missing but the instruction book, I would have been straight on the phone.
