Visual Feast

Just like a stomach, Denied access to the sustenance, It desperately craves, Laments not scooping up crumbs, Before they are swept out of reach. The eyes denied the visual feast, Of Nature in its endless parade, Of colours and textures, Will lose their sparkle, And the mind turn to darker thoughts. How much longer will it take us to learn, That a concrete jungle, Is not a healthy place for those, Who cannot see the need, To travel outside city limits, And witness Nature in the raw.

Totally agree. Unfortunately there are few tree appreciators in sight and corruption is becoming the norm. Although Covid may have woken up politicians as to the fact that the majority is not always silent, and when the law abiding citizens speak in droves they need to tread carefully and distance themselves from those who think they are untouchable or are just plain selfish. Nothing more dangerous than law abiding citizen who goes rogue, and nothing more sad. But we live in hope and the lights are still shining bright at our house. PS our grandson is 3 on 2nd Feb.
