Twinkling stars confetti the night,
creating a magical sight;
as a molten moon starts to glow
against the black backdrop of space.
Held in night's ebony embrace
Luna's light gilds the clouds below;
and observed by the naked eye,
shooting stars unzip the night sky.
While spinning perceptively slow
the Milky Way seems surreal;
a spiraling galactic wheel,
superimposed on night's shadow.
Twinkling stars confetti the night,
so far away and yet still bright;
and quasars and pulsars twirl fast
seeming to flicker as they spin.
Once those pulsating lights begin,
the night's beauty is unsurpassed.
The universe is God's domain;
something we can't, as yet, explain.
We don't know how long it will last,
maybe it'll expand forever;
we see no end whatsoever,
all we know is that it is vast.
Look up and behold the grandeur
of a jewel-encrusted sky;
swaddled in velvety velour.
