There are stealthy submarines, Beneath the sea, Capable of destroying Earth... There are saucers above, With powers unknown And their reasons why they hide There are secrets in drawers, And reasons well hidden, And highways to nowhere, So often driven, And life forms in the sea, And wondering people And there's you and me There are moons, And stars, And comets bright... Streaking through The cold winter's night There's the past, The future Points in between, Garish lights, And delights unseen Moments in time That should be cast In Hollywood cement In hopes they last... There's poets, pimps Prime ribs of beef, The frontline soldier, The Commander in Chief.... There's yesterday, Today, tomorrow, Joyous moments, Days of sorrow... Gods and Devils, Angels and Demons Black and white And four seasons I'll never live long enough, I know, To understand.. Why it's so... Yet in the end, It matters not, My time is now... I thank God I've got My poet friends, My musicians too, MY lovers now, My days with you One damn fine thing This thing called life With mothers, fathers, And a loving wife... Touch each day As the precious gold it is And thank our Lord, For sharing what is his.
