Vanity

I wished to become Tagore - to Sing your praises in poems. I wished to become Shakespeare -to Frame your life in plays. I wished to become Gandhi - to Free people from bonds of slavery. I wished to become an emperor - to Wield my power all over humanity. But, Alas! I did not wish to become An atom of your glorious cosmos Which includes everyone of those I wished to become. Lord, is it not my vanity That displays my life's futility?
