#2: The Cravings Culprit so I fought ... with all I got ... I fought, and fought, and fought ... with all that I had, I fought ... I drew and I drew a lot ... this endless battle, this ceaseless thing ... deep in me, this monstrosity ... it eats away what's left of me ... and if I have a soul ... a soul to hold ... I will find none to be ... for it is empty ... no soul, but a hole ... that leads to my heart ... for it is the culprit ... that I fought and fought ... as I kept on drawing, drawing quite a lot ... for it was naught my soul, that empty hole ... but I fought with my heart ... the true culprit was that I had battled with ... the war within that I drew my art ... I am Van Gogh ... what would history say of me ... if they knew what the cause was to be.

the war within plagues many creative types--artists, musicians, writers, poets, etc. My younger brother was one such person who suffered depression for a good deal of his life. He wrote music; that's his legacy from his troubled soul. Liked your poem. Sara

I take it that he's, no longer with us--if I'm mistaken forgiveness--yes, if so like Van Gogh who I believe has been made whole, Amen. Aloha, William
