Urban Reflections

From my apartment on the Lower East Side of New York City I hear cars rushing by and realize that I am living in a most urban area After dining with friends I walk home alone to view some sexually charged TV I continue to exsist in this "Baghdad on tne Hudson" as O.Henry named it My lights are working as I sit down to write verse Things could be worse things could be much worse In distant lands "ignorant armies" battle and die This is the 12th anniversary of 9/11 Memorial Candles won't bring back friends, family members, or lovers back to this verdant earth But our pain is eased now Somewhat...........

living in new York I imagine there are more reminders then elsewhere, though we all felt that pain...and yes, many have it worse than us....enjoyed the read!
