Up Came a Tiger
Over the prairie,
The dew freezes,
The rain settles.
Under the woods
Animals eat berries.
The shelter snowy and deep.
I lay a trap.
I’m cold up to my neck,
Chilly weather to trek.
I stepped and crept.
Zero degrees.
A hero to freeze.
I caught a deer,
I did sneeze.
I caught a cold,
I did fear to be old.
Up came a tiger
Who scared my deer.
I fought back
So near.
I shot the tiger
To brace and stagger.
I was bit once.
I bled an ounce.
The tiger did pounce.
A grizzly bear came
In the clear.
The tiger saved me
From a tear.
A joyful expression,
I was the exception.
