Unto Us a Child Is Born
Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given . . . "
Isaiah, 9:6 (Bible)
As you enjoy this day remember the child who was born to us,
the child given by his father, God, to heal the world of sin;
and angels sang his praise, and trumpets blew, and animals bowed,
and wise men gathered at his side in a stable below a shining star.
His blessed mother looked upon her baby boy with pure love,
his father with awe and eternal pride to protect;
something very special was to begin that time would not forget,
oh, did Mary have any idea of what her son would do in this world.
Did she realize how he would change everything,
could she imagine him upon a cross dying while people gazed;
and how her pain would fill us all with so much love,
did you know Mary, did you.
So as you enjoy the gifts around the tree, the food,
the songs and love of family gathered around, think of him;
how he only wanted to change the world for the good,
remember how he was tortured and killed so cruelly.
Remember him, this Christmas Day, 2022
