Until We Meet Again

You laid in the hospital bed weak and barely hanging on . I was compelled to share my heart," You are my best friend and lifelong mate. I know you have fought the good fight of faith. And you are about to see our dear Lord. I don't want you to leave me. I know you are extremely ill and your body is tired and in so much pain". Our love is so strong That it will transcend beyond Earth and galaxies "So until we meet again, goodbye my sweet love. It was a pleasure to be your friend and partner. We had a beautiful life and I have no regrets. Thanks for being a wonder- ful husband and father. I appreciate that you were a loving and honorable man". With tears running down your face you mouthed "farewell my love". Alexis Y. 9-8-17

It had me teary-eyed. I wouldn't wish such suffering on anyone. But you put him in a beautiful place of memorial, memory in words that many will see and know he was loved, and did love. Thank you for sharing it with us, Alexis.

Very emotionally charged poem, Alexis. It brought tears to my soul. Sad but inspirational poem, as indicated in the title. Mighty fine poetry from a talented poetess. Love and more love to you and yours.
