Unhurried
I'm happy here
Curled up at the end
Of my smallest daughter's bed
My head on a spare Squishmallow
If I want
I can look at her beautiful
Little face
To leave, I'll step over
Possibly 100 toys
Plus our new books
From our bookshop day
Each Barbie has been made a house
Out of books
Making quick tidy ups impossible
So I'll step round for now
And ask for the tour tomorrow
I taught both girls to play cards this week
Luckily I don't need to let them win
As they picked it up straight away
Not like when there was a skipping phase
And I kept showing off
Which actually didn't impress them
My latest and who knows maybe my last
Impressive move
Is the fact I have a wardrobe half full
Of clothes Wednesday Addams would wear
Which were still my staples
Until I spotted myself wearing jeans
And hoodies
I wonder when that happened
I'm reacquainted with weird applique again
So all is right with the world
Apart from Black Forest Hot Chocolate
Was a special and is now unavailable
At the coffee shop
Maybe I'll see if I can dream
About that
There is beauty in a simple, forgettable day
