Hang out all night

and felt ashamed, seeing serenity of morning; and I,

steep in stupidity.

I felt you at threshold of Broad and narrow I felt in my bones, All up in my marrow You touched me. I heard an unfamiliar voice In stillness of morning And flinched before Your Virgin light of day, Shame watched me sweat. I peeked and saw your offerings: Beginning of a new day, Clear skies before sunrise, Meekness of trees, amid Splendor of your breeze I darted out to nowhere... Forgetting I'd tasted serenity That second; and though I felt humbled, weights Of shame equaled insanity. Numbing was pain after pain Until that day, You saw my cat licking rain, Falling from my eyes. *

the sorrows of the deep night are no match for the sun rays of hope . . . may your tears be transformed into laughter and delight. 7
