Under the Stars

Let us sleep here under the stars And feel such simple quiet content No people, no bother, no fuss Let’s be young again and innocent The night soft and caressing The leaves our blanket on the ground The world a place of peaceful calm With sounds of nature all around No more subjugation or rules Obligations or wounds agape Unseen fears to tie us down Or heart felt longing to escape. A place of soothing solitude, The stars a cover for our bed The breeze our tender lullaby The moon our guardian overhead. You and I, as one at last Reaching across an endless space In euphoric ecstasy Entwined together, face to face.
