Under the Rock
just might be a lightness in the
darkness, if you prefer the light &
you got ta’ sift through the ****,
you got ta’ embrace it when all
else goes the way of the dinosaurs---
this just might be something human
something full of errors & just like
you, yes, this little trail of
breadcrumbs, might lead to your
back door &
you throw away all that somebody
said, all that somebody meant to
you, you walk hypocritical & never
find a way to forgive a friend
because they just didn’t turn out
the way you thought when you both
began.
there’s life under every rock &
though it’s a cliché to say you got to
be looking underneath it, if you
don’t then you got no one to blame
but yourself & the most narrow of
minds to boot.
flush right under now,
like water from the stream,
flush right under now,
like rushing stream out from beneath the
manhole cover,
flush right under now &
let the eyes open wide
because you could find so much more
than what wanted,
in time.
