The wind taunts me with unbidden memories, It curses me, Gives me no lasting solace. It reminds me of that lovely day When we wandered o'er the hills, Wild fragrant thyme perfumed The graceful countryside. The wind had breezed through Your silken hair. Your luscious eyes sparkled with love. I blame indifference for this lustful world. Now you are gone forever, my dear, While I lament your loss, I try to forget my dirty past And hope for God's forgiveness Though I deserve none.

It's wonderful how love uplifts us above the mundane, and wonderful the memories that can be recalled, reminding us of that perfect time.Delice

Truthful and real Victor you have written a reality that many have to deal with and that is cheating. It is hard to forgive oneself but Jesus does and it should erase any guilt felt but always be reminded of Jesus's grace for us. Well written my friend...

His memories, clear as crystal, remorse holds strongly in his words with such grief emphasized. Why is he undeserving of reunification of his adored wife? Confessions of a true lover! He listens!

Another beautiful, loving, romantic poem about your wife Victor. I feel your sadness in how much you loved her and miss her. You are the King of Romance! Lovely….Cuddles Debx

What a beautiful and loving memory of your sweet and beautiful wife. We so often cannot see life while we're living it, even if we are poets and see more than most. Please take comfort in your memories and not allow condemnation to tear you apart, your sins confessed are dropped into the sea of forgetfulness by the atonement of God. Here is a sign to put up when condemning thoughts of guilt enter into your beautiful memories "No Fishing" Savor the promises and memories. Be blessed Victor <3

Very poetic and passionate work. Sometimes it is hard to forgive ourselves for wrongdoing or follies of the past, but God forgave you before you ever did it. Thanks for sharing and for dropping by my page. Sara

The embrace of a wind is a pleasant feel. What could you have done that God would not forgive. He does forgive all if repent . Blessing my friend.

Ah, yes. My mind refuses to remember where I put my hearing aids (my shoe), but recalls in exquisite detail failing to be at my father's bedside on his last Christmas. I cannot seem to find an edit or a delete. Elizabeth

We all live with the knowledge of things we could have done differently in the past, but the most we can do is use the wisdom gained, so as not to repeat past mistakes. I loved your description of the beautiful day in the countryside. :)

Victor, as always, your words have created such poignant poetry. Our lost loved one will not be restored to life, and the blunders we committed in the past cannot be recovered or mended. As a result, rather than obsessing about the past, we should concentrate on the moment and what is left in our coming future. Best Regards dear friend.

As we get older we often have regrets thinking maybe we should have done things differently but we can't change the past only trying to remember the good things Tom

God always feels everyone deserves a rendition of His perfect love and bliss. You don't need to deserve it Victor, you just have to want it, for you are His special son, His arms are open to you, regardless of where you walk into in life. Walk into the mire of His great love my friend, and He will raise you up! Love and light, Vie

There is nostalgic longing and a sense of remorse over things done. Your lost dear one cannot be brought back to life and your past can't be retrieved or rectified. So live in the present and accept what life offers. Poignantly written....dear friend.
