"Sisters are different flowers from the same garden." Quote by _Unknown I will compare two sisters born ten years apart, they look exactly alike- could be twins; I write of my younger sister and of myself our personalities different. For example I like to write my poetry, but she does not like reading my poems; our fashion sense is totally different, I am whimsical and she is business. We like different kinds of books, food, and music, I love cats and she does not- too much fur ! I am tranquility and calm, she is control, she has no traits, none, of our parents. My mother (now gone) and I were more like sisters, mom was more than babysitter and cook; I will say though when my mom died we became one, creating the most beautiful funeral. After that we struck a balance of acceptance, we are different and that is so true; but we have a deep love forever, and always, each unique, each perfect, though ever in contrast.

For me, you sound like the funner sister. I'm glad you got close during your mom's funeral. With my sisters, I share many similar traits but I am the least emotional of them all and the more studious. other than that, we love having fun together. I sure wish I could see them more often. I think your entry has a good chance to win compared to the way I did mine.

Andrea, thank you for commenting on my poem and the encouragement. I am a totally different personality. My sister has worked for law firms all her working career and must dress conservative (no fun in that). She likes beige, black, and brown, I am purple and pink, flowers and lace. I cry, she sees that as a weakness. But, she is always there for me when I have been sick, an anchor in the storm that is my life, my voice when I have been unable to speak.
