Two Men-Two Good-Byes (Part 1)
As I prepare myself
For the funeral service of my best friend
The love of my life
Is sitting on a mountains end
I can only immerse myself
In the thoughts of the two
Yet praying for my children
What they have been through
My friend gave them
Love, hope, and dreams
Was like a father figure to them
Even from a distance it seems
I have learned a
New lesson in life
It is easier to love the dead
Then living a dream of being a wife
So, I offer a sincere farewell
To the men that I love today
To the one that is living
And the one that has passed away
One is just a
Phone call away
To speak to the other
I will have to pray
I have memories
That time will bury
Along with the thoughts
Of what true love must carry
Tomorrow I climb
To the mountain peak
Looking up and down at each
My good-byes I will speak
I have two regrets in life now
Losing a man who loved us all
And loving a man
Who won't even call
Dan always said
"Leap in life till your legs you break.
They will heal,
But you only have one chance to take"
Here's my leap
I just hope there's someone there
To catch me when I fall
In my moment of despair.
