Two Lenses

When I was a child, I had no fear, With Mama and Daddy always near. I liked to swing on the garden gate, With never a thought of tempting fate. No one could tease me or make me cry With my four brothers standing by. The guilty were scared right out of their socks By protectors aching to clean their clocks. As and aged adult, I find I've changed, Since the whole world has become deranged. Every loose package could contain a bomb And every strange man, a Peeping Tom. All of my protectors have been taken away My home is a prison of fear today. When needs must take me from the house, I hurry back home like a frightened mouse. 02/13/16

Thank you for participating in my contest “Two Lenses”..It was an honor to read your entry..Sara..It is so wonderful to have the love and protection of family which I know that you still have in your children and grandchildren but the world has been a very frightening place or so it seems..

Very sad and true. Your depiction of truth was fabulous. Hugs, Bobby

What you say is very true, Joyce. Life used to be much less problematic. Now we seem to have to watch out for trivial things...danger lurks everywhere! ~ Congratulations on yet another lovely win. Take care ~ Regards // paul

Joyce, I was saying basically the same thing to my sister the other day. The world has become so chaotic, what I wouldn't give to have the simpler times back.
