Two Good Deeds Rewarded True Story

Robert's Uncle John had passed away. Robert's mother Ann was John's sister. Roberts mom had called him and asked him to come over to John's house and take what ever him and his wife Mary wanted from the Estate. Mary and Robert did not need much so they just decided on a Sofa that Mary liked the woven pattern on it. They pulled up their truck and carried out the sofa. Mary commented on how heavy it was. It did not look heavy but it was. They finally got it home and enjoyed it for many years. One Sunday morning while reading the newspaper and having breakfast. Mary noticed an ad that said, Widow in need of sofa does not have to be new, will accept any donation and will pay delivery fees. Mary said to Robert, " Uncle John's sofa would be a perfect gift for this poor widow." Robert agreed and even waived the delivery fee. They picked the sofa up, and made the delivery to an elderly widow named Mary, also. Mary thanked Mary and Robert repeatedly for their kind act. She kept insisting on them taking a fifty dollar bill for the delivery fee, but they kept saying, "No thank you, just pass it on to someone in need." The months went by and Mary was so happy with the sofa. It made her realize of kind hearted folks that are still out there. Robert and Mary were those folks. One afternoon Mary while sitting on the sofa felt something that was unusual. She felt it in the Seat cushion. She was apprehensive about cutting the fabric to see what was causing the uncomfortable feeling. So she passed on it. Weeks later she decided to see what was causing the discomfort. She thought that she could sew it back up and no one would know she had cut the fabric and fixed the problem. To her unbelievable surprise, when she cut the fabric, she noticed stacks of Hundred dollar Bills in the cushion. When all counted there was over 500.000 dollars in the cushion. At first she thought of what she could do with all that money. She needed a refrigerator, and some other things she could not afford at the time. Her life would be much better. Mary realized that it wasn't her money it belonged to the folks who donated the sofa to her. In her heart she had to do the right thing and return the money. She got a hold of Mary and Robert and told them what she had found. Robert realized his uncle was hoarding the money, and had died, not able to share. Mary and Robert's Kind act was passed on back to them. They gave Mary 30.000 dollars, and thanked her. Michael Tor

An uplifting narrative. In my experiences, profound blessings and Good Samaritans appear when least expected, and under the direst of circumstances. Superb! Robert

What a heartfelt write and how good and kind people, were Robert and Mary. They were rewarded, and so was the widow, Mary, for her honesty. Such honesty and kindness is rarely found in this day and age Michael. Hugs and blessings. So happy to share this delightful story with us, thank-you Michael. Jennifer.
