Twinkle Twinkle
We are online, space walking, lights blinking,
not plugged-in or unplugged,
but burning bright in the endless night
umbilical threads waving
within a space-wide Net.
Together we hum on the far side
of a glowing solar plexus.
Often we wonder,
wonder what we are?
Do the stars twinkle or is it us,
are we connected to a nexus
of sparking flames
and what is that alien ringing,
are they tiny bells tinkling
from beyond the beyond?
Are we that twinkling of a forest fire,
its bright branches enlightening
the darkest silence
and are we now the tinder
or fire-starters?
