Twentynet - 60's

My 60’s My 60’s meant childhood. Unaware of changing mores or real significance of Kennedy’s assassination, three sisters and I were transplanted to Mom’s childhood Iowa farm until she remarried. Though poor, we had good times! Our family, now ten souls, adapted, struggling, while soldiers fought abroad. Civil unrest was little known to me. I enjoyed summers, friendships, radio, kiss in ‘69 - Moon walk/ childhood’s end. Free love, hippies, LSD eluded me. I thrived!

Congrats on this win. You did a great job. A different perspective as a child. Yes, I am glad all that drug era eluded me too. I see what that is doing to some of our youth nowadays. love phyl

This is so true! I can remember the exact place I was standing when they announced that the Japs had bombed Pearl Harbor. I was 11 years old at the time. The disaster really meant very little to me. I was merely surprised. "Oh, well," I thought, "we'll soon make short work of the Nips." Love, daver

Thanks for your comments, Andrea. Hope you'll check out my blog. Has to do with grammar, punctuation, winning contests, etc. '60s is correct according to the AP stylebook and I'm not looking for a debate. Just pointing out some rules reporters use in print publications.
