Twenty Minutes Until Showtime

Twenty minutes until show time. Some get super excited with these words. I neither sing or dance; I am lukewarm about it. You are doing a solo someone tells me. Apparently the braggadocio baritone backed out. I do not sing at all I say; my voice cracks. I feel pressured, because I am a people pleaser. And can you tango? Someone asks. I have only seen a tango once on a movie. I shake my head “no”. But in a half-hearted way, knowing I will do my best To sing and to dance, because I am a people pleaser.
