Not sure what happened here, a bit too melancholy but it felt a shame to bin it. I was going to say I'll look at some happier art but it's not the picture at fault haha. I mean I wrote it just after getting back from the opticians - I did feel I had to face up to my mortality because I need reading glasses and I wasn't impressed. I nearly bought a new pair of slippers just to cheer myself up :)

It's hard to know what chipped away Integral part or separate external stray It's all important, not just for show What chipped away, it's hard to know Always what lingers what has been That scene that sits within a scene Reason long since slipped through fingers What has been, always what lingers Given time to think, placed in a room How long will I maintain this bloom Contemplative thoughts they link Placed in a room, given time to think These papered walls, they do not speak My breath is held, whilst I'm at my peak So vibrant, yet it's death that calls They do not speak, these papered walls On from here, what do I expect? It's slow decline, not fast eject Too beautiful for me to shed a tear What do I expect, on from here?
