Truth Winds
I’m standing outside, and the wind moves around me
The winds are speaking truth
A truth no one wants to acknowledge
A truth that people cover up with smiles
A truth we must come to face
And still we ignore
There’s no words
But I feel every letter
I shut my eyes, and reach out to touch it
Twirling leaves cut at my hands
Sharp edges slash delicate skin, leaving crimson in its wake
And still we ignore
From the beginning where it leaves small paper cuts
To the end where it strikes deep within you
The leaves turn to ash
Never to be see again
And you’re left with the scars of the words
And still we ignore
And still we live
